This fall, come see how the gardens are holding up!
From September 11 to 27, 2026, personalized guided tours will be offered in the gardens of the Centre-Val de Loire region participating in the event. This summer, the heat wave caused extensive damage to parks, gardens, and vegetable gardens. It transformed our gardens. Some plants suffered, others held up, and some surprised us. Gardeners had to observe, conserve water, protect their plants, garden differently, and adapt.
The APJRC, the Association of Parks and Gardens of the Centre-Val de Loire region, is launching an initiative focused on observation, raising awareness, and engaging with the public about the effects of the heat wave on its members’ gardens, by offering visitors personalized guided tours at several sites throughout the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Discover how gardeners—the unsung heroes of the countryside—observe, protect, adapt, experiment, and share their knowledge. “Those who keep the gardens thriving” will welcome you, introduce you to the plants that have survived, explain water management in the garden, share their experiences, and answer all your questions.
